City Harvest Church Independent church founded in Singapore in 1989 by Rev Kong Hee. With 18,500 people attending its services each weekend, City Harvest Church is one of three ‘mega- churches’ in Singapore (the others being Faith Community Baptist Church and the New Creation Church).

In early 2002, City Harvest moved into a $42.3 million titanium- clad building in Jurong. In that same year, Kong’s wife, Ho Yeow Sun, a worship leader, launched a career as a secular popular singer, performing mainly in Mandarin. In 2004, City Harvest Church became the first church in the world to attain ISO 9001 certification for total quality management. The webcast of its services reaches audiences of about 11,000 per weekend. Visitors to its website can also buy sermons via digital downloads.

The church continues to grow, and claims about 400 converts and rededications each week. It has nine branch churches in Malaysia, India and Indonesia. The church has moved its English services to one of the exhibition halls at Singapore Expo, while its Jurong premises are still used for Chinese and children’s services.
