Keppel Corporation The Keppel Group was incorporated on 3 August 1968 under the name of Keppel Shipyard. The group was renamed Keppel Corporation in 1986 and operates core businesses in offshore and marine, property and infrastructure. Its commercial interests and activities span 30 countries in the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Keppel Offshore and Marine (Keppel O&M) operates 17 shipyards and occupies a key global position in the design and production of jack- up rigs, as well as the design, construction, conversion, upgrading and repair of offshore structures and vessels. It is a leader in the conversion of Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels and Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessels, and also repairs, converts and builds a diverse range and capacity of vessels.

Keppel Land, which is the property arm of the group, is an established developer of premier residential and office properties in Asia. The group’s infrastructure business includes environmental engineering, power generation and network engineering. One of the units, Keppel Energy, is an independent power supplier in Singapore licensed to provide electricity and steam. It also operates power generation plants in Nicaragua. Keppel provides total solutions in environmental engineering from the designing and building of plants and equipment to their operation and maintenance.

Listed in 1980, the Keppel Corporation counter is a component stock of the Straits Times Index. The group posted record net earnings of $564 million on a group turnover of $5.7 billion in financial year 2005. Keppel Corporation’s bottomline was boosted by higher offshore and marine earnings, and its 44 per cent stake in its oil and gas, Singapore Petroleum Company, which reported a net profit of $403.6 million for the same period.
