Ong, Christina (unknown– ) Businesswoman. Daughter of oil trader Peter Fu and wife of Ong Beng Seng, Christina Ong is the chief executive officer of Club 21, which she started in 1972. Ong had originally wanted to open an English- style tailoring shop in Singapore but the enterprise failed to take off when the tailor emigrated to Canada. Confronted by an empty shop in Tanglin Shopping Centre, Christina decided to market and sell top fashion brands, introducing to Singapore leading labels such as Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan and Prada. Her flagship Club 21 Boutique handles over 40 fashion labels, and has 72 boutiques in Singapore, the United Kingdom and elsewhere. She has been dubbed the ‘Queen of Fashion’.
