Ramli Sarip (1952– ) Singer. Also known as ‘Papa Rock’, Ramli Sarip was a member of the group Sweet Charity in the late 1970s. After releasing nine albums with Sweet Charity, including Pelarian (Escapee) and Live Reunion, he started a solo career in 1989. He has produced eight solo albums and two duet albums. His repertoire includes rock songs, ballads and Malay folk songs. In 1998, he was given the Excellence Award by the Composers and Authors Society of Singapore (COMPASS).
